well to answer your first question: no, the Si lights will not fit on a 96 civic. Si's only come in years 99-00, and the front ends for those years are different from the 96-98 civics

as for the projector headlights, just search around. Im not familiar with those lights

If you really want projectors, browse ebay. Make sure they're for a 96-98 as 99-00 will not fit. TYC is a decent brand for them.

I'd avise against projectors and just upgrade your existing bulb though.

Your first question was already answered. No 99-00 Si headlights will not fit a 96-98 Civic without a complete front end conversion.

Not true. 99-00 headlights DO in fact fit on a 96-98 car, however the fitment is sucky and looks like crap. the front corner juts out too far and the outside edge is too wide, but the light does fit and everything closes just fine.

I know by personal experience that these do fit, and I will try to find pics of them in.

NINJA EDIT: Got a pic:

notice the two green circle... that is where the fitment looks like crap.

yeah, so he's probably better off with actual 96-98 headlights.

Well hell, anything can fit and look like ****. I'm saying they don't fit...PROPERLY. Didn't know it required a disclaimer to state that 99-00 headlights would fit, but look like doo doo.

And that's not a "ninja edit" when you take too long to edit, and it shows what time you edited.

OP,just get 96-98 that fit properly, so your car doesn't look like complete *** with the incorrect parts.

well he didn't ask if they fitted properly, i'm just saying that they do fit b/c according to what was answered before, they don't fit... when in actuality they do.

My mistake on not knowing a proper ninjaedit... am not on the internet enough, nor do i post enough to really know the lingo.

Your best bet is to go with some '96-'98 SiR headlights if you want something other than stock that looks good. They're not too expensive compared to other JDM headlights.

SiR's cheaper than CTR, right? Depending on where you buy.

bahahaha.... says the kid who joined 4 days ago and has posts worth less than crap.

besides I could care less what you think. thanks anyway.

To the OP, sorry to thread jack, but I would agree with the afore mentioned, and get OEM headlights and retrofit them with projectors if you want projectors that much.

Oh I know... I was just using the green circles on those lights as references to where the fitment sucks b/c I couldn't find the pic of where I had 99-00 lights on it. I should have made it clearer my fault.

Thanks, its not easy going to school full time and trying to work on and mod a car lol.

I'm curious as to why the thought of projector lights not being as good as OEM's. Let me clarify a bit...is there a practical reason or is it just a fear of the ricer label?

What are the differences between the 1996-1998 (6G-1) front end and the 1999-2000 (6G-2) front end?

The following are the differences between the US 1996-1998 (6th gen - first front) front end and the US 1999-2000 (6th gen - second front) front end.

- Headlights are shaped different in the corners ('96-'98 rounder; '99-'00 more pointed - this affects the hood and fenders too).
- Headlights are different lengths ('99-'00 is longer than '96-'98 - this affects the hood and bumper).
- Headlights' inner corners are shaped differently ('99-'00 is more pointed - this affects the bumper).
- Headlights are different in internal design ('96-'98 has long amber reflector and amber bulb cap in the turn signal; '99-'00 has small amber reflector in between headlight and turn signal housings).
- Grilles are different (SEE NEXT EXPLANATION).
- Space between headlights and grille is different ('96-'98 has more space - this affects the front of the hood too).

The corners have those silly lines on them, forget what they're called. 99-00 headlights are clear all over. 99-00 also have a reflector (clear or amber) that can clearly be seen in the housing.

Those probably have a bad fit because they're aftermarket, or that car has been wrecked. I really, really don't think this works.
