civic header replacement
I have a 97 civic cx hatch with the cat in front of the engine. I was wondering if anyone has done a conversion to a regular header and relocated the cat to under the car. If so could I do it for a reasonable cost (possibly ebay parts) with little to no custom fabrication?

Re: (JamesV)
I've done this. Get a regular header for a D16. You can install the header with no problems.
Buy a cat from an EX or SI. You will have to take the cat to a muffler shop and have them weld a flange onto your exisitng exhaust to mount to the downstream flange of the cat.
You're done.

******, if you had a coupe DX and were to buy a complete exhaust system (header back) for an EX would it all bolt right up?
You have the new header, cat, and exhaust system.

Let me restate this to make sure I understand what's going on. You have a DX. If you have an EX catback exhaust, an aftermarket header for d-series(or stock EX header), and a EX/SI catalytic converter, then yes it will all bolt up fine.

Thanks a lot. That's what I thought, but I wasn't 100%. I don't want to be giving the wrong information when threads like this roll around.
