Default civic HB for sale: good deal or no?

There's a guy around me selling a white 92 civic hatch back... with a b16b swap and gsr tranny and cf hood... I don't know how many miles on the b16 motor but he wants 5000 for it.... other than the swap it self I think the car is pretty much stock. He also has a nitrous set-up installed. The chassis it self has about 130k on it. Just wanted to know what you guys think... I personally think it's a little bit too much for a car like that since the only mod is the motor swap and cf hood. Of course I'm not exactly too sure how much a b16b is...

The exterior and interior is in pretty good condition..

Sounds like a good deal to me if everything is in the right condition. CTR B16b swaps tend to cost around $3700 and up...Find out more information...When was the motor swapped, how long was nitrous used for, reason for sale, etc...

You can buy one with a gsr motor for 5k. Look around some more.

**Edit: sorry my fault... I just called him and asked a bunch of questions and verified that the motor it-self has about 55k on it... and it is a b16a, not a b16b ctr motor. He's selling it because he's saving up for a new car... I think the guy's wanting to buy a STi or Evo.

Sorry for the mix up.... I'll keep looking around... I would also like to find at least b18c1 swapped hb, or just a stock one in good condition for a cheap price so I can do the swap my self.. but the only reason I'm considering it is because the car was garaged and well taking care of and it's very hard to find a hb like this especially locally. So, 5k for a b16a.... I don't know.....

If you would have actually read the replies instead of blindly answering his first post, you would have seen it's a b16a, not b16b.

the thing about buying other people's projects is that u dunno wat the hell is wrong w/ it ... cmon u know their not gna tell u all the things thats wrong w/ it . I mean something that they think is a small problem that they think wont affect anything later could become a big problem for u and cost $$$.... just something to think about when buying other people's projects

What kind of condition is the body in? What about the interior? Also, is it a blue interior or a black interior? What exact trim level is it?

These are all questions that can help determine a good asking price. I'd be all over a white hatch with a black interior that's in good outside/inside condition with a swap for $5000. In fact if you don't go for it, please give me a contact number so that I can look at the car.

this is EXACTLY why buying swaps that are already performed to a hatch is a bad idea. i made the mistake of buying a hatch with a b16a already in it. i thought it was a steal and that it was a badass car, turns out that the motor he said was "rebuilt", ended up being some half-***, piece of **** rebuild and ended up costing me alot of money to fix (detonation). of course its all good now, cuz i just ended up building the **** out of my b16, but i couldve saved alot of money.

Just make sure the b16b is in good running condition, don't let the 6b and nitrous be the bling reason why you want it.
