I just tried to install alpine 6 1/2" co axials to replace the standard co axials in my civic and they did not fit, are civics a bas**ard normally to swap the coaxials?

the speakers should be universal, you just have to line up the correct holes and then wire them up, shouldn't be difficult.

are the alpines "type s" or "type r"? im pretty sure if you remove the grill/cover type thing on the back, the "type s" speakers should go in no problem. if they are "type r's" then you might have to cut awaysome of the metal in the doors, or get/make mdf spacers which is recommended anyway.

hit up a stereo shop and see if they can help you out...

i had to make MDF rings for my speakers in my hatch for them to fit. its really not difficult and they dont have to be pretty either, you'll never see them.
