Default Civic with front end damage

hey im about to buy a eg civic and it has front end damage..the two beams that are on the sides of the engine bay was crushed by the accident so they cut the damaged part and welded on beams they found from a junk yard or something. my question is do you think i should buy this or avoid any civic with collision?

If the wreak was that bad then i would stay away from it. Unless it has parts that you want or you plan on parting the car out.

See if they will let you bring it to a shop check and have them check it out for you. If they didnt weld the unibody back on straight then its still fucked or a frame machine will be needed. Is this car like 200.00 or something cheap?

honestly, you gotta post the price your getting it for, second i wouldnt buy it anyways, cause if its salvaged title obviously it is you wont get as much if you wanted to sell later on in the long run even if it was just a beater. "Profit" key word.

From the sounds of it, I wouldn't buy it. But it also depends on the price that you are getting it for.

I'm not trying to crush any dreams here but I am in the middle of dealing with my eg hatch after it was wrecked. Yes, it looks like you can slap on some fenders and go from there, but it's not that easy if you want to make it look clean and done right.

Here's some things to look for:

Windshield-is it shattered, I got mine for 195 replaced, hella cheap under the table.
Hood? That's another 90 bucks, maybe 50 used.
Fenders-40 bucks a piece.
core support-50 bucks
headlights-oem around 50 shipped on ebay, then bulbs
corner lights-20 shipped on ebay and bulbs
bumper support-20 bucks
Then if they had to cut out those two frame rails, you might want to check the inner fenders, if they're toast, then it's really fun to replace, and around 150 at a junkyard
Steering wheel, if the wreck is that bad then the airbag deployed if it had em, yes it's drivable w/out, but you do have a huge hole in the center of the wheel, i got mine for 16 on ebay oem part
Passenger side airbag cover, dunno how much for that but i just bought a block off tray for an ek for 50 bucks new

Then possible frame alignment, don't expect under 200 bucks unless you know people
And last of all motor mounts, 1 of mine blew in the wreck, so it's just going to be one more thing that will take time to replace.

I'm not trying to be a dick, but I just want to leat you know what you're in for when taking a wrecked car and trying to get it to where it looks stock again. I never knew how much it was going to cost me untill now, and i'm pushing over 1200 when i'll be done in 2 weeks. That's without paint. It's going to cost another 600 for paint clearcoat and primer, and another long *** weekend of work. To be honest with you, if i ever wreck my car again and don't have full coverage on it, then I'm just going to part it out, and pick up another one because it's not worth the hassle and time.
