Are civic EX gauge clusters interchangable with Si gauges?
I just snapped off my friends fuel gauge pin on his 2000 Si gauge while we were installing indiglo gauges. I broke it so I'll fix it and since were using indiglo gauges all I need is a working cluster and I wanted to know if the Civic 96+ EX gauges could wire up with the Si since they are cheaper and easier to find. Thanks

Well, I'm not exactly sure about the electronics of it......I think that it will wire right up, seeing as there are a lot of hybrids around with Si gauges, I don't see why it wouldn't work the other way around. However, the Si has a higher redline than the Ex, so you would not be accurate on that since. Any thoughts?

yes the redline on the EX gauge is lower but its the ECU that controls the redline, not the gauge. Besides, the Si indiglo gauges will go on top of the EX cluster. Again, does anyone know for sure if civic 96+ EX gauge clusters and 2000 Si gauge clusters are interchangeable?

yes, it will fit fine, however just to elaborate (correct) what accordss was saying, the redline will be different in the aspect of the actual gauge (the red space), if you put the si cluster in the ex, you would be redlining before it says you are, but if it doesn't bother you swap it, just a tip

Another reason for all go, no show....
Perhaps you can swap just the needles from another cluster? I sure wouldn't want to replace an Si cluster with an Ex cluster.

on 6g civic clusters -- dont try to swap-pull needles, because they are pressed to the pin way too tight.
si clusters are easy to find--most for about 220-250. but on the other hand--a 96-00 ex will be plug and play, but the redline will be wrong. another way is to just replace the gauge you broke. @ the dealer, the tach and speedo arent that expensive--like 50-60$. they are simple to change as well. 4 screws hold and "wire" them up. there is no actual wiring to do/change/solder.
