civic eg has no codes, stutters from 1.5k- 4k rpm especially if accelerating slow, bogs if i floor it. when feathering the throttle, it back fires. no smoke.
put a new o2 sensor in and it turned black
im thinking too rich,
any ideas?

i havent timed it, but ive adjusted the dizzy and it still stutters no matter what position... sounds ghetto, but its what i have to work with. I'm replacing the cat next and then going from there

changed the plugs, it runs a little bit smoother, but the plugs are fouled with fuel... it seems its dumping fuel in. I changed it to a ek DX header/ cat and now it blows smoke .... Im guessing from fuel saturation
I have NO codes.

I changed the header because its a known good cat... the one before is not known if its good.
motor is bone stock
i think my problem is specific to fuel dumping. it gets horrible gas milage as well --- probably due to the fuel dumping

I've been having the same symptoms and I can't adjust the timing either so I move the dizzy around. I gotta get a lower timing cover then Im timing it asap. I'm like 98% that's what it is

you think its a timing issue?
I have adjusted my theory to it being a Spark issue.
I have new plugs and cap
maybe the coil may be dying

it looks like the timing is on. I have the white mark lined up with the pointer and the "up" is lined up with the distributor ear, so my guess is its a bad dizzy

i dont have a timing gun to time it, and i dont think it would act so horrible no matter how advanced or retarded i moved the dizzy

Post #16 seems to suggest otherwise. You don't need a timing gun for mechanical timing. Check the FAQs for How-To's.
And AGAIN, when was the last FULL tune up you've done. Plugs and wires are not a full tune up.
