Default civic ecu problem

I have a 96 civic sohc v-tec with a 2000 sohc v-tec motor in it. I was told that i need the ecu to match the 2000 motor, but the wire harness will not plug into the new ecu. Is there a conversion harness available, and where can i get it. the only harness i know is to convert from obd1 to obd2. what else is there.

there are 2 versions of obd2 ecus, usually called obd2a (96-98) and obd2b (99-00). you should be fine running the 96 ecu with your 2000 motor, but if you feel like you NEED to run the 2000 ecu, you need to find a obd2a to obd2b harness to ecu jumper
