Default Civic Differences

A friend of mine is looking into buying a civic and I'm trying to help get him some info concerning differences between the newest generation civics and the previous generation. Does anyone have any quick facts or websites that have good comparisons?

'92-'95 are the best years for hatches. Si's are the best. '99-'00 for coupes. Si's are the best too. All sedans suck! VX/HX for mileage. HX is better than VX. EX is a Jap Buick. JDM will make you a legend. Forget all the rest...

Hrm... I think that covers it...

New suck...Old good. That's all you need to know.

My favorite years span from 1996-1998. Civic EX two-door coupe. Excellent body styling, interior comfort, and D16Y8. A nice little package. Not to mention the sunroof.

just curious, why do you say 99-00 is best for coupes? is it just personal opinion based on looks, or do you have technical info that says the 99-00 are better?

Well, my friend is looking at either a new 03 civic dx or a 98,99 (somewhere in there) civic, maybe ex. He was just wondering what the main differences are between the two generations and which one might be a better deal. Personally, I've told him that if it were me, I'd go with the used model, but he's still just wanting some good comparison.

Well, what does he want to do with this car? We're going to need more info. What do you mean by which is better? Better for what?

With the 7th gen Honda changed the front suspension from double wishbone to a modified MacPherson strut (2001+)

Easy killer - he's not looking into mods or anything, just overall which would be a better deal. In order to determine this, comparisons will have to be made and thats what I was looking for, similarities and differences (<---- comparisons). If anyone knows off hand of a good site devoted to all ranges of civics, that'd be great.
