Default Civic Clutch Pedal Sensors

I am in the process of currently converting my 98 Civic from auto to manual. I installed the clutch pedal but I need a need a little clarification on the actual sensors and what connects to them.

Doing my research I came across this information:
The starter sensor (the 2 thick cables) on the auto shifter are connected to the top sensor of the clutch in order for the car to start when the clutch is engaged.
The cruise control sensor (the bottom one on the clutch pedal) needs 2 wires connected to it from the switch.

Is this information correct and secondly since I don't have cruise control do I really need to plug anything into the bottom sensor in the clutch pedal?

Thanks in advance.

If you don't have cruise, you don't need to have anything connected to the lower switch. In fact, in non-cruise cars, they don't have that switch installed. They use a threaded rubber tipped bumper to adjust the clutch pedal height instead.

As for the upper switch, you got it right that it is for the starter interlock, but I don't know the details on how to convert from auto to manual.

Cool. That switch is fresh in my mind. I'm adding cruise to my hatch and I swapped out the rubber bumper for the clutch switch just a couple day ago.
