Re: Civic 92-95 SWAP Gsr, type R, h22a (HondAcura)

In a nutshell:

B18C1 - $3,000.00-$4,000.00 depending on condition and mileage
Roughly 150whp with i/h/e

B18C5 - $4,500.00-$6,500.00 depending on mileage and condition
Roughly 175whp with i/h/e

H22A - $2,200.00-$3,200.00 depending on mileage and condition
Roughly 170whp with more torque than the B series by about 20ft-lbs.

H22A seems cheaper, but you need to factor in mount kits, axles, and the extra labor and the need to cut the chassis to get it in the car.

Prices listed are BEFORE labor and any extras such as intake, header, and exhaust, etc.

Here's some helpful links regarding the various engines:

That should do you up fine for now. The search function here is great, and that's exactly how I got those topics you see here.

Read those and browse the forums to make a more informed decision.

BTW:

I sold my old B18C1 swap in favor of my B18C5 and the difference was 25whp and .7 in the 1/4 mile - that's a huge difference, and it was in the exact same car, same strip, etc.

IMO the price difference between the B18C1 and B18C5 price is well worth it. The B18C5 is worth the cash if you intend on staying near stock or just a mild N/A build with cams, etc. If you plan on building for crazy-ass N/A or boost, then buy the B18C1 and use the difference to get your project going.

Good luck.
