What's a Civic "EXR"?
Civic with an F22 (from a Canadian Accord) swap?

Every car made from 1996 and up have a crank sensor. That mean that as soon the crank sensor get ho its not sending the signal to start so you have to wait to do it. Make sure you buy it. Please before doing this job disconnect the ground.

Ahhhh.....
Those are called EX (96-98), & SI (99-00) up here.
(Both SOHC)
Your Si/EM1/DOHC is called SIR up here.

EXR's are the top model for Accords 90-97 up here.
My bad.

So your car stalls once warm, & won't start or drive until it cools down?

Unrelated, but it deals with 1 of the parts listed:
I had rough cold starts, & this helped me.
If cleaning those parts don't help, try replacing the IVAC.

which sensor you reffer? The crank position sensor or the crank fluctuation sensor? The position sensor is in the distributor.

he means the one on the oil pump, under the black plastic behind the main crank pulley. would be CKF sensor you want to check out. CKP is on the distributor shaft.

ok, to get things clear, my d16y8 motor has the two sensors ckp on distributor and ckf under water pump, the one i need to change is the one on the bottom of water pump right? i mean this one
Sensor Ckp (de Posicion De Cigüeñal) Honda Civic 96-00; Sp0 - $ 510.00 en MercadoLibre

its kinda confusing because it says ckp but the real thing is that its a ckf sensor.

Don't mean to threadjack, but isn't the main relay a common thing to cause hard starts in the heat with Hondas?

Did you do regular maintenance things like sparkplugs, clean TB, oil, check for vacuum leaks, etc?

Yeah, i change oil every, 3000-5000 km or every two monts, the time when i need to drive to my home city, sparkplugs every 25000 km, i recently clean the admission intake, vacum leaks is the only thing i dont know how to check.

i have read on some post that this problem might be because a failure cooling sensor, today i disconect this sensor and i start the engine without a problem, then put it back againt, and the failure was there, tomorrow i'll buy a new sensor and check if it solves my problem, i hope it will, pls cross fingers!!
