Civic from 2 wrecked DXs?
I have the opportunity to pick up a 97 2 door DX for around $2500, but it will need to be painted. What happened is a friend of my dad owns a body shop, and he has two 97 Civics, one with heavy front end damage and the other with a bad title. The front end of the bad titled Civic which is red would go on the other, which is silver. As pimp as that would be with a red front-half, I'd get it repainted. I was also thinking that while the car is in pieces like that of swapping in a H22. What do you think of this deal/any advice?

and you cant find another car thats in decent shape for a little bit more $?
edit**oh yeah, my point: sounds like a pain in the *** for what youre gettin into. Plus just because there's front damage doesnt mean that there isnt more that you might miss (ie structural)

Re: (pdiggitydogg)
The car has been checked out already and theres nothing damaged that can't be taken off the other car. I think the price is pretty cheap, plus it'd be easy to swap it with the car apart.

2500 isnt a bad deal as long as you get the WHOLE thing for that (meaning the good titled body and the new front end). If you have the money swap while you can and get your engine bay painted and rejammed as well (if you dont keep whatever color the front will be). Just know that paint is going to cost you up to 2k for a decent job (possibly less if your friends dad will help you out) and that H22 is going to cost more than what it says on a website selling them. Just make sure you have enough funds so that you don't get caught halfway trhough with your project and no car to drive! Best of luck though.

Its 2500 for the good title and new front end. I can get a good deal on a paint job and all the parts for a swap too. The body shop guy's brother runs a huge parts salvaging business and is good about finding random parts for cars, so most of that stuff I could get.

Well then if you are mechanically inclined enough (or have the funds to pay someone else to do it) jump on it. Seems like you could get a car for fiarly cheap this way, but just realize nothing is as easy as it seems and will likey take you twice as long to get it done as you would imagine.
