wiring city lights on jdm eg headlights. seeking guidence.
heyuh fellas. what's going on. for a while now i've been hearing things from a friend of mine asking if i'm going to be wiring my city lights up. then 'til about about a week ago i didn't know what the heck they were. so i find out, replace the bulbs with new ones and now i need to know how to wire them.
i've spliced sidemarkers already, so hopefully i'll know what i'm doing by color reference. which color wires do i wire to the city lights? is it the same as the sidemarkers? the sidemarkers blink through the blinker only, non-running lights. much appreciated guyzz!

i always thought that they were running lights...
i thought that they turned on instead of your corners... and your conrners just blinked instead of having the double prong double function bulbs....

Re: (`greenthinK)
one more question, i would most definately want the city lights to serve as running lights rather than blink only. is there a way to do this?
cuz =\ i connected my sidemarkers to the red wire and it serves as a turn signal only. does that mean if i hook up the city lights to the turn signal -red n' black- wire they'll serve as turn signals also?

Re: (`greenthinK)
so the green goes to the black and the red goes to the red correct? for running lights as my city lights that is.. please correct me if i'm wrong, cuz i have my sidemarkers to red and black and they serve only as turnsignals..

Re: (`greenthinK)
Hey whats up if you need help I can show you mine. Mine only stay on and they are tied into the corner blinkers. Your in Gardeena? if so gimme a call. Im at work so call 949-760-9335 and hit 1 for the front desk. I get out at 9:30 pm. and am free afterwards. We can meet up somewhere. I cant remember right now what they are tied to exactly. But before I had my driver side (by accident) set up so they are on (both blinker and city lights but it would bink alternately) then i fixed it. I think you use black as ground and the red is the constant signal then green alternates that signal to give the blinking feature. well what ever call me if you need help

Re: (`greenthinK)
hey there, i checked my city lights today. when i signal, the corners blink but the city lights stay STEADY. hmmmm how unusual, but that's my setup.
my setup (city lights to corners):
black to black
red to red
green left alone.

yeah thats how mine are now. I think if you connect the red (on the city lights) to the green then they blink alternately with the turns.
for those who want their citys on but the turns off then just disconnect the red to the turns, but leave the red going to teh city lights. that way I think the turns stay off when the headlights come on but come on to blink when you signal.
