citation for being too low :(
so i got cited for being too low and a whole bunch of other things but whatev...i already gave my stock springs to my auto-shop teacher and he let someone cut em up so my question is should i just ebay some stock springs or is there a way i could throw some spacers in there so i can just get it checked off by the court then take em out?

If you are going to cut your stock springs then you deserve to have that ticket. Lower you car the proper way or don't do it at all. What is the point of buying spacers? If you plan to fight the ticket with a picture of your car either Photoshop it or take a picture of someone else's car when you go to court. I highly doubt you are going to win this case.

Yeah, I had to reread the post. Maybe if the sentence was typed properly I would not have made that error. My mistake agaf'd.

There are tons of kids around where I live that cut their springs. I ask, "Who are their parents and what are they teaching their kids?!" Well, good luck with the "Fix-It" ticket.

Judging by the people I deal with on a nearly daily basis, they're of a similar mindset of their children. Most people don't have a clue about cars, and the little they do know is usually incorrect or well, not quite correct.

Re: (x0!)
I say you find someone to trade your lowerin springs for there stock ones....get the ticket signed off and then juss save up your money and buy some coilovers....so then you can lower your car as much as you want...and then if you get another ticket again for riding to low you can juss raise your car back up

I dont get Cali.
Ive been there twice now and what i dont understand is how do all those older muscle cars drive around doin burnouts and loud exhuasts and all i hear about is Honda's getting hassled.
My buddy runs around here in NJ with a 4 inch turbo exhaust on his turbo LSV and never gets a word said to him. NJ<3

Re: (ifIexplode)
someone asked, but i saw no reply. check your local laws about how low is too low, and make sure the cop wrote on the ticket how low your car is. if he didnt you can fight it.
P.S. always do your homework, ive gotten outta alot of tickets by knowing the laws

definately check the local laws
i know that recently there was just a change to the law mandating the height on a car. i believe i am correct in saying that at first cars couldn't be below a certain height because it was believed that being too low disabled the ABS. however, this was proved wrong, so i know many places revoked this law because there is no saftely hazzard with a car being too low
i'm looking to see where i read this... if i can find it then i'll post the link up
good luck with ur fighting ur ticket

Re: (cvcgrl8)
In Cali u can be as low as the lowest part of your rim but, your headlights have to be 22" above the ground. There's a vehicle code book u can get at DMV (they seem to never have them n stock) that gives all the info on these laws.

You can also check some of the laws here.

I started putting together a list of links to state laws and such, but my computer crashed.
