Default choppy acceleration + bogging

ok, i searched and looked through quite a few threads, if i missed the one with my exact problem, im sorry, but i didnt find it.

heres whats happening, i have a 1996 civic ex with the edelbrock kit. Today i drove the car up to my friends house, like 1/2 mile away. no problem, turned off my car and stayed there for a bout 30 mins, then we got in my car to go to kragen, and all of a sudden, my car is bogging ilke crazy, hardly any throttle control, its like one minute its on the next its off, and the car is jerking all back and forth, the only things iv changed recently is my battery, which was dead, and i cleaned my intake... so whats up with my car. thanks for the help!

battery conections are good, stock fuel pump, no tune up recently, and no check engine lights...

is it possible that the oil that i put on the filter, ( aem filter cleaner ) was sucked into the engine and caused this, because i jsut now started the car, and its not boging down while reving a lil.

you might have a failing sensor or distributor
