A chirping tranny, slave/fork?
'94 Civic Si, just got it, the tranny makes a slight chirping sound. It stops making the sound when I press the clutch. Would this be a...
Clutch Slave Cylinder?
Pilot bearing?
Shoot..the clutch?

Re: A chirping tranny, slave/fork? (cinci27)
Are you sure its the tranny chirpping. It might just be an accesory belt.
My ISB was bad so i recently changed and the grinding noise it made went away.
Also my Alt. belt was loose and would chirp when driving or idleing with the clutch out. But when i would put the clutch in the belt would stop chirpping. They clutch and the Alt. belt are not dierctly related, obviously, but it would stop.
Yesterday the belt snapped and i made it home on my battery. So today i changed the belt and the squeaking/chirping is gone.
Double check where the sound is actually coming from.

Yup, I like to fix things.
I know it's comming from the tranny. (1) it goes away when I press in the clutch. (2) It goes away when I pop the hood and manually press on the slave cylinder with my hand.
The car came with a Fidanza flywheel and Exedy Stg1 clutch brand new in the box, so it looks like I'll have a few other parts to gather before I install them...project time.

Re: (Rok_Stok)
If it goes away by manually pushing on the fork with your hand, then my bet is you're not fully disengaging it....and therefore it's a worn throwout bearing.
There are a lot of misdiagnosed ISB failures without people knowing it because when replacing an ISB you typically replace the throwout. Sad thing is, the labor to replace an ISB is about 5x the amount as a throwout replacement.

Re: (Mista Bone)
I'm replacing it all, can't wait to see how my new flywheel drives too, 7lb Fidanza. Subject change, but has anyone had any dislikes about them? NM, I'll just search it, there's probably 1,000 pages on fidanza flywheels.
