Chipped, socketed, mugen, spoon, WTF help please
ok can someone please explain the whole chipped socketed ecu thing ... i found an original mugen program chip and need to buy an ecu to put it in... im lost i keep reading chipped ... socketed ... what do i need how hard would it be to put in a stock p28 ecu?

buyin the virgin ecu how do you put the chip in... im sorry ive always been a muscle car guy kinda ECURetarded lol will it just pop in somewhere or ??? i dont know lol

You have to unsolder the old chip, solder in the socket, flash chip to base tune, and then have tuned. I'm guessing your "Mugen" chip came off eBay? I had one of the "Spoon" chips back in 00 before I knew anything about Honda's and went through four distributors in six months. Took it out and no problems after. They are trash and will probably make your car slower.
