200 for a chipped ecu is pretty steep, give drdisco69 a ring.

Yeah it is. I just bought mine for 125 shipped, and picked up the chipping and datalogging kits for 55. All in all, I spent 180 but i'll be able to datalog and chip it myself.

So you saved 20 dollars but you have to do everything yourself

The rywire ecu does not seem to come with datalogging, and drdisco69 will do a chipped p28 with datalogging for 180 shipped in any case.

Plus, some people like to do stuff themselves, like me.

Also, 125 shipped is steep on a virgin p28 to begin with.

john vega aka phearable.net is the way to go. very reputable. go to performance and look at his thread. many options. comes with 4 pin header for datalogging. price is 175 i think. he is the only person i will buy from when i get mine. he has base maps that he has personally dynoed for many different setups.

kenji sells 'em good I guess, everybody sells 'em, but everybody wants too damn much for 'em, typical person charges 70-80 bucks to chip an ECU which is completely outrageous if you count what they're doing (sodder in the chip, resistors, and load the program, 10 minutes TOPS of work, <$10 in parts)

From what I hear it's better to do it yourself, then y ou can always tune it or change it later

Ive spent time talking through email with "phearable" and instead of trying to sell me an ECU he actually tried to help diagnose my problem first. Where I come from thats the way it should be! I am still planning to buy one from him eventually. Check out his site it will make up your mind for you when you compare to alot of other vendors!

have to is such a bleak word. I would rather say I GET to, as in.. a learning experience.

I saved 20 bucks and I can also datalog... which would be extra on top of that 200 dollar chipped ECU.

So in reality I saved 75 bucks.

No, it's not. 125 shipped is the absolute CHEAPEST price I've found on any website or in any for sale forum.

That bones because I've bought chipped p28s for less than 100, and I buy my virgins online for 80 shipped usually. I've even bought an obd1 pr3 (p30) for 40 shipped.

It's all about looking.

Wish you'd said that before I bought mine. Where'd you get yours for 80?

Ebay for 80, I've gotten them locally for that too. Meh, sorry, If I sell them I sell for 100 shipped, the best way is to go p06/p05 for like 30 bucks and add vtec for 10-15,
