are u using type r ecu? if your car is running smooth and there is no CEL.i dont see any point to chip your ecu. a chipped ecu can reset your vtec point. disable some sensors such as knock sensor.. remove the top speed limit and rev limit.enhance fuel/air ratio a little bit. and what i am talking about a chipped ecu is not simply buying a cheap chip from ebay for like $35 and u expect it to work.u have to have it tuned by a pro based on the mods u have on your car
i have a chipped ecu p28 tuned by a pro (not just bought a cheap chip from ebay) for my jdm b16a sir II swap..i have the vtec set at 5600 rpm and remove the top speed limit and rev limit. remove the knock sensor detection and utilize the CEL as a shift light at 7300 rpm..because my stock jdm p30 ecu was not running very smooth and kept throwing me knock sensor and traction control error and kept vtec in safe mode from engaging.
P28, P06 and P30 are most common ecu to chip

if you dont have any semi-serious mods i.e... not just i/h/e then just leave it as is.

wish i had an itr swap.

give them a call or email
