Default chipped ecu on a b18c r vtec set to kick at 4500

So I have a type r eg and the ecu has a chip in it that sets the vtec to kick at 4500. Does this seem to early? I bought the ecu that way not thinking about it but compared to my old b series hatchbacks it seems the vtec does not pull as strong as it did with my gsr motor and it's much quieter to the point where you can hardly hear it. Its running stock manifold and full 3in exhaust. Help is appreciated

dam 3in exhaust with stock motor??? But yeah your motor is stock and its not good to run the v tec so quick so just better off with a stock ecu and well run better that just IMO

The heads build a bit with aem parts, but yeah I bought it with 3in exhaust and im trying to use alch to pass emissions i barley failed it last time. But I will look into a stock ecu or would a vtec controller work to override the chip?

I don't think the v-tec controller will overide it just use a stock ecu.

i would get a stock ecu, chip it get it tuned. if your car is simi built head with aem parts that it could through everything off and its vtec not "v-tec"

in another post you say you have aem cam gears. that's not exactly built. sell that ecu to a ricer that doesnt know any better, you may know a few, and get a stock virgin ecu.

all you need is get a new chip or go get yur car tuned. most likely if you have a chip than it is compatible with crome. find someone that can tune with crome. after they tune they will burn you a whole new chip to plug in your ecu.

and wtf is the dude up top saying sell your ecu and buy a stock one and chip it. that is doing all that **** just to end up with what you already have. stupid ***** on here

I never said it was built, I said the head is semi built and it has aem cams and cam gears.
