You could chip and get a new map ran. So roughly 200$ for less than 10hp? Depends on want you want really. -Later, BR

wait until you do something to the motor. something like a bigger cam, higher compression, turbo... intake/header/exhaust don't justify a chip and chances are good the most noticeable effect of a chip will be black soot on your rear bumper from the extra gas you can't burn and poor mileage.

you can get a chip burner ($85), socket the board yourself (~$20), and download one of the free ROM editors... but then you need to know how to tune.

you could also check out PGMFI.org. great resource.

his car didnt run better with a skunk chip. name brand chips are a joke and anyone using them should get laughed at. and a chipped computer is not 200$ more like 50 to get it chipped or 120 to buy a whole ecu thats been chipped and a program uploaded.
but yea wait till you have some mods that a chip ecu can support

You can always chip it and put a pair of pins and a jumper on J1 to make it switchable. That's what I did on my P72. One way it works as stock, the other way enables the chip or whatever you installed.

There is no "best" chip. Go to http://www.phearable.net. If you still have questions on what you need contact them before ordering anything.
