CAR INFO:
b16a Jdm obd1 p28 ecu.
cutom 2.25 pipe.
short ram intake.

WHAT KIND OF SHORT SHIFTER SHOULD I BUY?
-UNANSWERED QUESTION--

If you have 9k set at rev limit, and you shift at 8k. will u still get same performance?

Best Vtec Engagement?
I've read some forums people say 5k.

Rev Limit?
how about 9k?

Does it increase much horsepower?
-Unanswered Question-

Is it safe?
-Unanswered Question-

i've also read if you go beyond 8k rpm your valve can miss up or something.

9k is too high on stock valvetrain, you won't make any power up there anyway... Stock valvetrain = stock rev limit...

I ordered a chipped ECU for my car (99 Si, bolt-ons, skunk2 cams, skunk2 valvetrain) from Phearable.net and it ran like garbage... Just get a dyno tune, it really is the way to go...

It doesn't even seem worth it for you though as you essentially have a stock motor...

I have heard stories of it working great for others as well but not for anyone that has any substantial modifications... I randomly ran into a guy that had the same car as me (99 Si) at the movie theater thats car was revving up and down as he was backing into a spot... I asked him whats up with his car and he said he just got a chipped ecu from phearable... He only had bolt-ons...

You cant go wrong with a dyno tune though...

so a chipped ecu misses up your idle.

A chip is only as good as the information stored on it. If you've modified your engine and installed a chip without getting it tuned, you just have a guess (basemap).

In your case, you just have a stock engine with bolt-on's, so just get a b16a ROM.

By ROM, I mean the actual data that gets stored on the EPROM (chip).
