Right, Get LCA bolts and bushings, you'll need them.

I'm not sure why'd you be removing your LCA's when swapping coil springs, but having extra suspension bolts on hand is always a good idea. The rear trailing arms tend to eat bolts when you do full-suspension swaps (DC2 to EH2, for example) but I don't think I've ever snapped **** just replacing springs. Just use WD40 beforehand and be patient.

Edit: if you mean the bolt that goes from the strut fork through the rest of the suspension at the bottom of the control arm/rotor area, that takes a lot of **** before it breaks. Don't break that.

Never heard of that. I've changed a couple suspensions and never had a problem with bolts breaking.

i definatly cant wait to get them on! About the LCA bolts, i dont know about you guys but i live in vermont so when replacing **** there is about a 90% chance that the bolts are rusty which equals breakage.. but yeah im going to spray them down the night before... unfortunaly i am going to be running stock shocks, i am a high school student so my cash is very restricted only working 2 days a week.

i have changed springs twice and never had to buy new lca bolts. i usually just use some good penatrating (sp?) oil and spray it on and let it set for a few minutes and they always come out ok. looks good post some pics when u get done

When going the rear bolts that connect the strut and the LCA, we torqued the heads off both bolts. Just have the bolts in case it happens, not everyone has done it but it is common with cars getting older and older.

Having the bolts and bushings on hand is a good idea. I worked at a shop in upstate NY for three years. I would say almost 50% of the Honda/Acura vehicles that came through had these two bolts seized(shock bolt on rear control arm). We have had to cut the bolts off on many occasions. We have had to replace rear shocks because the bolt would seize up in it. This is probably the most common problem in areas that get a lot of snow. Anyone ever heard of salt. Well after three years of driving a vehicle through winters it takes its toll. When I bought my '99 Civic Si in 2001 I replaced my springs the day I got my car. I have one outer bolt that is seized in the rear.

On a side note, if you are doing this in your garage, you will probably not be able to replace those bushings. They need to be pressed out. Good luck.

yep.
every one of mine ive lowered (3), and all of the friends cars ive lowered (probably 5 more) at least ONE of the LCA to strut bolts seize. But keep in mind i live in kansas city- road salt tears stuff up pretty good.
I have gotten to where they are always the first bolts i take off, just to get the headaches out of the way early.

nice avitar btw!!! *spends next 10 mins singing "were just.. a minor threat-" to himslef*
