Default check engine light won't stay off

hey, i just bought my honda and i have a few questions, thanks to anyone who can help.

-is there anything that commonly goes wrong with a civic at 115,000 miles?
-will getting a cat-back exhaust installed prevent my car from passing emmisions?
-what size pipe will i need to get enought back pressure?

thanks

1.if it has been maintained?no...if it hasn't been maintained?a ton of things.my first step would be to make sure it has had a timing belt/water pump service, followed by the needed ignition/filters/etc tuneup.
2.if won't affect emmisions.just make sure you don't have any laws concerning modifying the exhaust as far as sound goes.
3.what engine do you have?

are you near Beaver Run by any chance?was up there for the ITR Expo.

you should specify specific information about your vehicle and location so people can answer your questions
