I followed the sticky on the subject, the problem is the check engine light goes off when the car is turned off and only comes back on during wide open throttle above 5000 rpms

1992 Civic Si

Seems there was an *** load of water in the VTEC solenoid plugs so I blew compressed air in them and unplugged the negative battery terminal. Problem solved.

My problem was I didn't know the computer stored the code, the CEL kept going out after turned off. So I was like WTF, how do I check it if it goes out.

Best part $0.00 cost, the bastards are $150 new.
