Check engine light
i have had my check engine light on since about november now,...right after i putmy pacesetter headers on my 97 ex, i think i might have bottomed out the 02 sensor into the header. but i had the cut the wires for the sensor and make them longer so the 02 sensor will reach the hole the screw into. its either one ot the other, i guess my besty best is to buy a new sensor and an extension harnesss or something, anyone have any suggestions or comments?

the code you are having is most likely the o2 sensor. replace the sensor and extend the wires so that it may reach.
to check the code, you will need to grab a paper clip and bend it into a "U" shape.
then pull the service connector which is a GREEN connector underneath the dash, right by the ecu. It is either right above the ECU or right behind it, but has a green cover on the connector.
Place the U shaped paper clip inside the pin-out on this harness, and put the ignition on the ON switch. Don't turn on the car.
Watch the CEL blink. One long blink = 10 and one short blink = 1.
So for example, Tow long blinks and 1 short blink would be 21.
refer to this websites for CEL's.

Good luck.

go to auto zone and have them through the obd2 checked its free. and then go from there but you will have to extend the wiring and reset the code.
