Tell us WHICH check engine light. That could help readers diagnose the problem better.

You shouldn't "suspect it's the O2 sensor" just because it's a check engine light. The CEL has MORE than one function. If it didn't, it'd be called the O2 sensor light.

If you have a '96+ year car, you can get the car scanned for free at autozone, pep boys, advance auto, or the like - they can tell you what CEL's it's throwing.

If you don't want to leave your house or have a pre '96 civic, go here:
https://honda-tech.com/zerothread/1901557

The OBD-I codes you get from that link aren't as accurate as the OBD-II codes you can get from an OBD-II scan tool if your car is '96+, but they can give a pretty good idea as to what the problem is.

Just go to Autozone or another parts store and ask if they'll check your car for codes. They'll go out there and plug a scanner into a socket under the dash and it will read whatever codes your car is throwing. Autozone can then print out the code and most likely causes for that code.

It's all free.
