Check engine light; 97 hx
Hey all, got a question.
97 Honda Civic HX, 2 door coupe
My mom's check engine light came on, so I took it to Autozone to check the code. It came back as "erg; insufficient flow" when the guy hooked it up. He said that it doesn't really mean that the erg is bad, just needing cleaned. He told me to take it off and spray some carb cleaner in there, and have someone hold a rag over the hole while I crank it over to blow out all the carbon.
Just wanting a second opinion... should this fix the problem. Any other things I should know?
Also, the car has almost 100k and is starting to go through oil pretty quick. (have to add back before its time for an oil change again). The car was always up kept as far as oil changes, i think. Would have thought this honda had another 80-100k before it started to burn. I've changed the plugs and wires, along with the air filter and fuel filter. What else should I do tune up my mom's car and get it running a little better for her?
Thanks for the help.

yeah cleaning the egr will most likely do it, after your done just reset it. and if it keeps coming on it might be your o2 sensor in the exhaust but i doubt that. give that guys advice a try.
