check engine/flashing d4
I changed my motor out for an identical d16y8,changed harness outside of car,all running great but after resetting ecu,and driving no more than a 1/4 mile the check engine light comes on and the "d4" flashes,I notice a slight quick stutter then the d4 flashes, the shifts get sloppy, shifts smooth up until the d4 flashes.I have a friend with the same year civic and have swapped each sensor /solenoid one at a time with resetting the ecu in between each change. It still does the same thing everytime.I am thinking it is not the tranny at all but something with the engine harness/sensor throwing the tranny into a limp mode or something.I have also swapped out the map,tps and eacv to see if they are the culperate but still the same.any help will be appreciated

He is asking what are the codes.... if you dont have an obd2 reader go to autozone or advanced auto and they will read them for you... otherwise use the paper clip way... there is a write up on here how to do it and i think it says in your car manual.. When you read the codes they will tell you the general direction on what to check
