I would do what you want to to it. I wouldn't use etch primer on it though, go with p.o.r. (paint over rust) you can just grind out the rust and what you can't get you can brush that p.o.r. over and they gaurantee it not to come back through. check out napa paint dept.

Wide body **** is ugly on a civic (or any car).

A real smart way to fix honda rust is to go to a junk yard and buy an old hood or something, then cut out the rust spots and weld in pieces of the hood. Then repaint it. I've seen my friend fix lots of Honda rust this way - b/c hoods are double sided paint it also prevents future rust there - and depending on how skilled you are you can make it look OEM. I can't do that - but he can :-X.

Yeah.. I just hope everything molds on and I make some good welds.. Cause I also got rust on the rockers and I was thinken about gettin some new ones and weldin them on too.. But that does sound good, to make it a track car.. Plenty of weight reduction if I cut out all the rust!! :-) Plus my friend just offered to sell me his B18C motor.. So good lookin.. I just might do that..

Im just goin the wide body route because it would be way cheaper and less time consuming.. And if I was to make it a track car.. It would definately reduce some weight.. And save me more money to work on a motor..

to hard park with? From what I see, only about 1% of honda tech members actually visit the track. A fraction of that percentage actually drive their own cars on the track.

Unless you mean drag racing...
