Default Cheapest place to get an upstream O2 sensor for a 98 civic HX??

Pretty much what the thread states. Trying again to help my brother out, and know nothing about hondas. Thanks for any help, trying to get his car to pass inspection.

http://www.sparkplugs.com

You can buy the one where it directly plugs in, or one where you solder the wires together.

Is this place any good? It's before the cat, on a manual car. Can I use this "universal" one on it? Or does it have to be an OEM replacement?

On the link you provided, I couldn't find one that was for a Manual Trans, before the Cat, unless it doesn't matter.

No, a universal 4 wire o2 sensor wont work. Your car's Primary o2 sensor is a 5-wire Sensor. Basically, Its expensive no matter where u go. I think Majestic Honda sells it for $350. There IS a way you can use the 4 wire o2 sensor. You must run certain wires to other certain wires though, but if will save you hundred of dollars. I just did this on my Cousin's 98' HX when his o2 sensor broke while installing a header. PM me if you want some details on how to wire a 4 wire o2 up and what you need.

You can buy from www.rockauto.com and search for Denso 2345052 like what I did for my 2000 HX. it works perfectly for only $161.00.
