Default chatter in tranny area

i just got an 94 dx hatch and it was in ana ccident where the whole driver side body panels are shredded. Also it has a bent LCA and axle. when i start the engine it makes a constant clicking/chatter type sound. when i push the clutch in it goes away. i can shift through all gears smoothly... any ideas?

maybe a fin on the pressure plate of the clutch broke off during impact and when you step on the clutch it pulls the broken piece away?

Still could be the clutch... if the input shaft was damaged it could be that the release bearing isn't contacting the pressure plate correctly and causing the chatter. Seen this prob. in my man. tran. class more than once or twice. You're gonna have to take it off and check it out.
