chassis code rareness...
What's up with how rare chassis codes are insome situtations? Like, especially with civic EX coupes... You always hear people refer to the EG or the EM chassis...but u never hear people refer to the EJ chassis...yet there's enough coupes floatin garound taht you'd think they' be one of the most popular....
Can somebody explain that to me? EVERYBODY's like EG or EM, I neve hear EJ, but it's the EX model, and I know there's tons of EX models floating around...
and I did search..but I can't really find anything on it because I dunno really how to explain to the search engine what I'm looking for

Its because the 92-95 JDM Civic HBs are well known for being EG (EG6) And people don't care/know about the USDM codes.
And the EM1 is a 99-00 Si. And thats also a well known code simply because its an Si.
Moral of the story: People don't want to memorize all the codes or are simply just too stupid

I'm sorry I can't really answer you, because I dont' think you actually read the post...I'm well aware of what the codes mean and which vehicles and which years they apply to, I was just wondering why the EG and EM are thrown around so much but u never hear more common models such as the EJ1 or EJ8 (EJ's)

Re: chassis code rareness... (Syndacate)
EM is specific to 99-00 SIs (on this board). That's why it's thrown around. Another way I see it is an EG looks like an EGg (especially my white one).
EJx = can be any 93-00 Civic (1, 2, 6, 7, & 8)
EHx = any 92-95 Civic hatch (2 & 3)
If people say EJ, it could mean both EG or EK.
