Default Charcoal Canister

Ok i just but a 95 civic with a LS swap in it. Needless to say it was a horid job with wiring and hoses. Well the charcoal canister was not hooked up. I just read a thread about it does nothing but lower hydrocarbons and has nothing to do with Gas efficiency. Well i dont believe that is correct in everyway. To make a engine run clean it must run hot. The colder the cumbustion is the more polutents you get. So if your vehicle sences the canister not hooked up it will make you engine run rich to get a hotter combustion. Not with the swap i have i noticed that the trottle body does not have the place to hook the hose to where should it go then??

Your Carbon cannister/EVAP cannister will not do anything as far as mixture.

All it does is hold vapors that have accumulated when the car is parked.
Your ECU tell's it to purge/vent during cruise or when you are cruising at a even speed.

Cold combustion? Please rethink this. Are you thinking about when you start the car? Because the ECU is richening up the mixture at this time. It is not because the combustion is cold.

Combustion over 2500 degrees produces Nox

Unfortunately perfect combustion does not exist. If there was we would not need emissions equipment. CO is bad in itself HC & Nox combined with sunlight is what is killing the ozone.
