Default Changing Pistons

I keep reading everywhere that changing the pistons (to ZC pistons) and head gasket (to Y8 gasket) on a mini-me swap drastically improves compression and power. As far as rods go, should I use the ZC rods as well? Additionally, is resleaving and boring required, or are all D series pistons interchangable in D series blocks without any cylinder modification? Finally, has someone done this change that could give me true cost to actually have it done? Thanks alot.
