Default Changing oil pan/gasket on Y8 soon. Couple questions.

I was reading the manual. They say to replace #5 and #19 (I think that's what it was) in this picture. http://estore.honda.com/honda/parts/...=&b=E++13&dl=#

Now the reason they say that is they act as if you're doing an overhaul, is what the guy at the stealership said. Should I go ahead and replace them though? Is it worth it? The guy at the stealership seemed to be stopping me from buying them haha.

Another question is about the exhaust gaskets. In the manual they say to replace the gaskets on the exhaust pipe that you have to drop to remove the oil pan. Anyone have any experience with this? Such as not replacing them and having problems? Seems like you really wouldn't need to.. The guy said it was like $21 for the one to the cat and then like $16 for the other ones. He also said it wasn't really necessary to do this. Are the gaskets easy to break? If they are I may just go ahead and buy them and if they break, replace them. If they don't then I can just return them.
EDIT: Here's the gaskets I would need I believe. Two of #8 and one #16. Which is $22 + shipping. http://www.thehondapartsstore.com/he...All&vinsrch=no

I just want a second or third opinion. Personal experience would be great. Or if you have read about someone having problems with these things. Or hell, you can just throw in your 2 cents.
Thanks guys.

Dont replace the gaskets on the Y7 manifold, just install the new header like you asked in your other thread. Also make sure to torque the three 14mm bolts on the header nice and tight or youll get a very annoying leak.

I dont know what parts youre talking about on the oil pan, that link doesnt lead to anything. Can you just post the picture?

Crap.. I didn't even realize the links didn't lead directly to the pictures and part list. Hold on..

What are you talking about my other thread? I'm not installing a header.

5 isnt really necessary but if youre down there with the oil pan off you might as well. That gasket usually comes with engine rebuild kits, its a paper one IIRC.

As for 19 im not sure what exactly its for, or what it seals. Are you sure thats what the adviser was pointing to?

Paper?! Weird..

I'm 95% sure that's the one. It's not the same diagram as in the book, but I'm pretty sure that's it.

Its on the oil pump. Unless you're comfortable taking off your crank pulley, timing belt, timing belt covers etc, I wouldn't do it.

Just do the oil pan gasket and pick up tube gasket. Its three 10mm bolts for the pick up tube and like twenty 10mm's for the oil pan haha. Dont torque them too hard, and make sure to put Hondabond in the corners of the oil pan gasket.

ps: The exhaust manifold MUST come off to do the oil pan.

Oh, not gonna do that then.. haha.

Yeah I already have everything I need to do the oil pan and gasket. I also already read the manual on how to do it.

I have a 4-2-1 header. It breaks off at the 4-2 to 2-1 so I can just unbolt it there. Then unbolt it at the cat. So about my other question.. Do I need to replace the exhaust gaskets?

Not really, no. Unless youre leaking you should be fine.

The middle gasket on the header would need to be ordered off eBay but the donut, you can get a replacement at any auto parts store.

Youre welcome man, good luck and enjoy a leak free engine!

I just bought an Accord and I believe the oil pan is leaking. FML.

Well, it's not leaking. I stripped the oil pan
So I bought a new oil pan for $30 and I'm going to install it with a new gasket and everything. Then I'm going to rethread this oil pan and sell it

No good.
