changing my oil pan gasket help!!!!!!!!!!!

Default changing my oil pan gasket help!!!!!!!!!!!

i have a 1996 gsr in my civic and is leaking oil in my oil pan gasket. and i was wondering what do i need to actually do to perform the service like any special kind of hondabond seal etc new nuts or bolt etc. and i will also need the torque spec and i need the diagram of what bolt to tighten 1st to last. sorry for the misspelled and weird sentence in a rush to go to work thanks in advance neeed to get this done asap

just clean the pan and block with oem gasket and then cross torque to specs

yeah i tryed that but never a temped of taking it out and tamper with the gasket just clean it very good and still smokes up when i drive

is the pan damaged it could be the rear main seal too

the main seal is near the pass side

its where the crank and the flywheel meetinside the tranny casing

Could be the front main seal also. Underneath the timing belt.

Oil leaks suck to find. I just fixed my rear main seal a few weeks ago. You have to be extra careful at replacing it.

The pan should have sealant put on it. Then the gasket lays over it. Put sealant on the bolt threads also. The torque is around 10lb/ft, IIRC.

Depending what type of gasket you get, you may not have to use a ton of sealant. I prefer Fel Pro gaskets because you usually either don't need much or any extra sealant.

I used a Fel Pro on my oil pan. So far so good, but it's only been a month or so. So we'll see. Seemed to be a decent gasket.

where could you buy that the fel pro brand or should i just get oem gasket

I got the fel pro one at Autozone for $18 because I needed it right away.

You can get the OEM gasket for around $20 at www.bernardiparts.com

I'd go OEM if you're not in a hurry.
