Default changing the Cat Converter

i got a 97 civic ex with about 150k miles on it.. so i was wondering if or when should the catalytic converter be replace with a new one? or how would i know if i would need to replace it or not?

I think there will be a CEL when the catalytic converter no longer does it's job, or if it's clogged there will be a lot of bogging.

agreed. Unless thee car is giving you problems their is no reason to change it out. Id let it be until you get a cel or have to get smogged and it doesnt pass for that reason. my 2cents
