changing automatic transmission
ok, so im swapping motors, i currently have a d15b6 and it has some bent valves, so i picked up a full d16y7 swap locally for under $200, only problem it has a manual, my car is auto... so im keeping my transmission and putting it on the y7 engine. Now I have changed manual trannies plenty of times, but I havent dealt with any autos yet. I will be swapping trannies while the engine is out of the car so that will make it easier... first of all, do the auto trannies use a shift linkage like the manual? is it easy to disconnect? also anything i should know about swapping torque converter? im sure i can figure it out by looking at it once i get it off, but I was hoping maybe some people could give me some tips?
