Default changing automatic to manual

I own a 93 Del Sol and just as a rough estimate how much would it cost me to change in a new transmission but change it from automatic to manual? Also alot of people are saying it is easier to just do a full engine swap what do u suggest.which would be the cheeper route to do a whole engine swap with tranny or to just switch from the auto to the manual and what is about the price to put the same engine in but with manul or just to switch the transmission??

i wuz thinkin the same thing bout my eg. it can be done... i seen a local shop do it for a kid for sumpthin like 1500. but u could prolly do it yourself find a parts car or go to junkyards. i found the complete shifter stuff (clutch lines, pedals) for 600 then the tranny for 300 and you'll need new tranny mounts cuz auto. and manual are diff. you will also need an ecu (bout 100-200)...these prices are from a really over priced junkyard, but i decided not 2 do it becuase it is easier and more reliable to just sell ur auto and buy a manual. do a search tho thur is alot of info on this topic in here. good luck! have fun!

Yes Eric.. SEARCH, SEARCH... lazy bumb... lol, j/k... The actual cosmetic work to turn your del sol into a manual wouldnt be that hard after all... If you love your car and dont want to give it up, change to a B series DOHC and do the tranny swap, turbo the bitch, and then finally... ad wings... youl fly........
