did you put the correct amount of oil?

if your oil is low, vtec will not engage.

Try cleaning out VTEC solenoid. Solves most problems with VTEC not engaging where it can be fixed.

Basically it. The filter screen gets clogged after years of life. Could be a coincidence but pull it clean it if not get a new gasket. Also check that the solenoid works and isn't frozen.

Did you buy some vtec fluid?

Are you getting any CELs at all?

This guy is correct. When you take the whole solenoid off you can seperate it into another 2 parts. The filter/gasket will be part of the whole thing where it bolts up to the motor. And on the smaller part that you can take off there will be a little button looking thing. Make sure that can be pressed in pretty easy. Oh and like sleeper said you might want to check your vtec fluid.
