Changed Oil Now No V-Tech?
I just changed my oil for the first time in my new 2000 Civic Si, and now I am noticing that the V-Tech is not working. I used Mobil 1 10W-30 and a the top line NAPA filter. Someone help I'm not getting a good impression from this car.

Get yourself a manual, you need it.
I don't usually say this, but I'm really tired of reading it over and over, go and read your valve cover and come back to edit some information.

No no, please, do me a huge favor and go outside to your car with notepad and a pen and pop the hood. Read the valve cover, then come here and tell me what it says.
I know we enforce not to say anything to the vtech users, but I read this word EVERYDAY and it's getting to me.
daklown, if I'm going to help one person in my lifetime in the correct spelling of his engine's feature, it's going to be him. I took down the pic for the time being.

I did give you advice, get yourself a manual.
When some ricer places some chrome dipstick, you're asking for trouble since oil level is vital to your engine's performance.
A manual tells you EVERYTHING and ANYTHING pertaining to your car. Go by it, and you'll be solid.

Re: Changed Oil Now No V-Tech? (BG Performance)
I hate ricers thats the main reason I haven't fooled with Hondas until now. Guess I thought I could start some kind of anti-ricer campaign. Give me time though I have just had the car 2 weeks now.

Re: (BG Performance)
Your VTEC isn't working because the car is low on oil, if its below a certain amount the ECU wont allow the VTEC solenoid to kick in because it uses oil pressure to switch over. Hope that helps you because that's my "Nice Comment" of the evening.

Re: (esoterEK..)
4 quarts is more than enough for my B16. It's usually a little less than that even with filter change. Are you sure the car was warm enough? And yeah, the vtec police are out in full force in this place, that and ricer bashing are the cool things to be doing.
