Default Changed HVAC lighting to red...and bitching about it.

Was in a buddy's Si and I must say the amber lighting inside it was pretty badass. This gave me an idea, why not change my HVAC lights in the 98 to amber too? Would match the Si gauges from the junkyard.

Well ****. Taking the god damn console apart wasn't half as easy as I figured. I honestly think the mech's at honda are all midgets because there is NO way some of those screws can be removed by normal human fingers. I must have lost a pint of blood to scrapes and cuts.

On the plus side, I managed to insert a red strip that changes the lighting to amber . Looks pretty badass.

Yeah, I hear you. I recently changed the climate controls in my 93 hatch to amber, to match my speedo/tach, it was a pain, but now that I know where all the screws are, it's not so bad.

The 92-95 civic climate controls are pieces of cake compared to the "EK's"........

Red strip...Please elaborate...Include pictures if possible. If anyone has noticed, the 99-00 Si CD player uses a LED which makes the amber drastically darker than the bulb lit climate and cluster. I have been dying to find a way to make it darker. My radio and climate/cluster don't all match up...Looks tacky, yet refined...Oh wait, wrong quote. Anyhow, any tips other than "Go to Honda, buy the orange condoms."
