Default Changed Alternator Now Low Voltage Light Won't Go Off

Today i changed my alternator no problems at all swaping them out. I started up my car ran smooth, stereo played loud, but the low volateg light wont go out. There isnt any codes, i even unhooked the battery and there wasent any change in idle speed. Also, i reset my ECU 2 times. BTW its a 94 coup with a JDM b16. The alternator I put in is for a 92 integra..Thanks for your help

For some reason, the voltage or current is inadequate. Either the install is bad (bad connections, improper operating parameters), or the new alternator is not putting out enough voltage or amperage for the circuit.

Also, I personally think you would have been better off with an alternator for a Del Sol VTEC (94-95), and this may frankly be the problem. I don't know squat about 92 integra alternators, but they may be different enough to generate what you are seeing.

If the install is good, then the alternator must not be a match for the car. Try to get an alternator for a Del Sol VTEC (either 94 or 95) - those were designed for OBD-I B16's, and has a good chance of matching the specs you need. (I wish there was somebody who had done this who would reply, but looks like for now you're stuck with me - sorry).

Thanks for all your help. I went to advanced yesterday to swap the alternators out, they had a DelSol one but the case was cracked and the pulley wouldnt turn. And he guy told me there is a virus that has infected there servers so he cant get me another one until they get the servers back up...so i guess ill have to run off the Integ for now....Ill let you know if it fixes it when i get the new alternator..

so what was your stock alternator rated at? I'm sorry, but this doesn't make any sense to me if the 92 tegs alternator and the one you had stock were rated at the same..

92 integra alt works with the computer. i think its called eld(electic load detection). and you 92 alt is not going to work with a 94 and computer. so you would need a 94-97 b-series alt. 94 and up the eld works with the fuse panel under the hood.(its the brown little box inside the fuse panel)
