Okay you know what? I'm issuing a challenge:

IF YOU PERSONALLY OWN ANY 1992, 1993, OR 1995 SI HATCH WITH FACTORY-EQUIPPED ABS THEN PLEASE POST PICS OF IT BELOW

I don't give two ***** about " my boy's hatch..." and so forth. I want to see the sticker in the door jamb showing the manufacture date. I want to see the VIN number, and you can blur out the last few digits to feel safer about it. I want to see the ABS modulator/Accumulator assy picture in the engine bay, and it had better have some way to ID it so we can be sure it's the same car.

I can take numerous pics of my wife's 1992 Si and then find any black 1994 Si or other black EX coupe and take a shot at its ABS gear. It's very easy to trick people with a camera.

Hell a continous streaming video would be ideal.

Someone please shut me up and prove me wrong with some hard core PROOF, not BS speculation.

If I'm wrong I'll be the first to apologize, so someone shut me the **** up already!!!

All of this has been brought about because people cannot post info in topics about brakes without filling them with bullshit "facts" and I'd like to see some proof of an ABS Si that was not the 1994 year model.

I've got a 93 Si and mine does not - thankfully - have ABS. I've also never seen one with it that wasn't a 1994 model.

Open your hood. Is there a big, nasty looking box with brake lines attached in the front passenger side corner (by the airbox)? Question answered.

I have a '94 Si and do NOT have abs ,thank you god!

But i have a friend with a 93 .......j/k!

Not all 1994 Si hatches had ABS, but all Si hatches with ABS were 1994 models.

According to the Honda computer, they only had ABS systems on the 94 SI hatch. Not listed for any other year hatch.

But I think the challenge from the mod is still out there. There were plenty of people saying "I'm looking at a 95 si hatch w/ ABS right now." The whole point was to have these kids show us the proof.

I have a Honda Quick Parts Reference guide that only lists 1994 as the sole year for the Si w/ABS option when looking up any brake parts such as rotors, reman calipers, and pads. I mean they go out of their way to list 1994 only.

Then there's the Vehicle Identification section and on page 1-46 it lists every single 1993-1995 Civic 3 door hatch, and even gives the engine, transmission type, and VIN number minus the last few digits.

I have no access to a scanner here at work, but here is the info for the 1994 SiABS hatch:

1994...Alliston, Ontario (Canada)

Grade - SIABS

Area Code - KA or KL TYPE

Tran - 5MT

Chassis Number - 2HGEH339*RH50001

Engine Number - D16Z6-360001

Tran Number - S20-2000001

Carb - PGMFI

Then under 1995 the only models listed are:

CX
DX KA TYPE
DX KL TYPE
SI KA TYPE
VX KA TYPE
VX KL TYPE

So I assume Honda's book is wrong on both accounts?

Well they were working fine to begin with. I wanted the .orig so they would be easier to see. I guess it only worked for me on the host computer originally.

Well I believe that because 1994 did have the option for ABS.
