CF Hood Q's
Sorry, I would of put this in the apperance section, but I am a trial user... Anyways. I just took my Oxidized CF hood to a paint/body shop to get a quote and the guy told me that just a sand and clearcoat wouldnt do it...he said that it would have to get painted black and would cost like $350. He also thought it was a fiberglass hood at first untill I said it was a cf. Is he ripping me off, or does he just not know about cf hoods? Or is it possible that my hood is so oxidized it would need to get painted? Thanks guys.

Have you seen alot of the "cheaper" CF hoods? Most of them are Carbon-Fiber-glass
If you look on the under-side of alot of them... it is actually fiber-glass, w/ a thin CF over-lay. Maybe he actually DOES know what he's talking about. And it is YOU who does not.

just get some 3m rubbing compound. compound the hell out of it and follow up with some glaze. then wax it really good thats what i did and it looks like new. you could also start with 2000grit sandpaper then follow the above steps if it is realy bad. good luck.
