Default Center Console doesn't work!

I'm posting this for my cousin. He has a 2000 civic EX and his center console doesnt work (climate control, defroster, etc.) What could be the problem? Can anyone give me suggestions as to what to check to save me some time of trying to figure it out.

What do you mean doesn't "work"?

Does it light up? Does it control what it's supossed to?

check the fuse for the blower/motor under the dash, and also the relays in the fuse box under the hood. Also, one time my climate controls would only work on defroster, turns out some wires were getting snagged on the vent control arms and keeping them from moving.

When he bought the car, none of it was working but he does have an aftermarket stereo though (that was also already there when he bought it)

if he cant find any bad fuses he may want to see about digging behind the deck to make sure the unstaller didnt cut stuff up badly.
