Cel14 IACV & have searched help possible?
Background: 97 Del Sol Si 5 Spd stock 135k owned since new (My sister gave the car 5 years ago)..
Car is throwing code 14. I have cleaned the IACV twice per the sticky. Reset the CEL. Start it up & CEL reappears, same code.
Unplug the IACV while running & warmed up car dies. I cannot get to the TB yet because the large hose clamp is rusty on small screw is frozen.
It has pb blaster on it now.
While waiting thought I would do more research & post my first question.
Is it normal for the car to stall out unplugging the IACV when warm?
Driving the car after its warmed up is nearly impossible for take the foot off the gas/engage the clutch it dies.
You constantly have to feather the gas to keep it runnng.
Also:
I have not adjusted any idle screws.
Reseated all electrical connections I could & check vaccum lines nothing looked out of place. Nothing looks unplugged or torn or frayed.
I did take a reading with the multimeter when the IAC was off, it read 11.8, it this correct?
The car has been serviced regularly but not driven much lately for its a spare car used mainly in the summer months. The last thing I did was to get it inspected, it was running great up until now. I wrench more on my toyota truck more than the Honda so not as familiar, any help is appreciated.
Honestly, I am just trying to get it running well so I can sell it but alas want to figure this out for the least amount of $$ possible. TIA.
