cel: something to do with vtec/oil pressure
it's an obdII gsr, sry but i forgot what the code is but every now and then when i take it to redline...cel comes on. but just recently i was cruising and cel just went off(this was at low rpm). well i did a research and most says vtec solenoid or oil pressure. so that means it's not a vtec problem and i also oil level was fine. i was thinking a clog on oil pickup in oil pan or oil pump. can someone second this? thanks alot.

test the solenoid by hookin it up to the battery and see if it clicks.. if it does its fine you can try taking the 3 bolts out that hold it on and cleaning the screen underneath it..if that doesnt fix the problem you most likely need an oil pressure switch

Re: (jdeemseerx)
Is the motor a JDM motor or a USDM motor?
The USDM motors have a "vtec oil-pressure switch" that is NOT present on JDM motors. That means when you use a US ECU with a JDM motor it will throw a code unless the problem has been bypassed. To bypass this code, you will have to splice the VTEC pressure switch's positive (hot) wire into the VTEC solenoid wire. This is of course if you are in fact using a JDM motor & USDM ECU...

A LACK OF OIL WILL SET THE VTEC LIGHT. CLEAN THE VTECH BY TACKING THE THREE BOLTS THAT HOLD IT TO THE HEAD. AND USE 5W30 OIL. ALSO MAKE SURE WHEN YOU CHANGE THE OIL ITS AT THE SECOND HOLE IN THE DIP STICK.
